School Leaders Warn of Worsening SEND Provision Across the UK
Recent reports have highlighted significant challenges within the UK's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) system. A survey conducted by the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) revealed that 98% of school leaders feel they lack adequate resources to support pupils with SEND, with 90% noting a deterioration in support compared to the previous year. This strain is particularly evident in mainstream schools, where limited availability of specialist support and oversubscribed special schools are common issues.
These findings underscore the importance of initiatives like the Saliha Sardar Trust, which aims to bridge gaps in support for children with SEND. By providing targeted assistance, we strive to ensure that every child can thrive, regardless of systemic challenges.
